INSPIRE OTHERS; SHARE YOUR Kindness rocks™ STORY
The Kindness Rocks Project® began as a simple hobby, but it has since blossomed through the collective energy of many. The positivity surrounding the project is truly infectious. Each day, I receive hundreds of messages, comments, and heartfelt stories that inspire me. Every story shared with me has the power to change lives, simply by being heard.
With that in mind, I would love to include YOUR story in a book I’m currently working on. If you’re interested in contributing, please review the guidelines below.
*Please note that not all submissions will be included in the final version of the book due to space limitations.
Guidelines for submitting your story for our book
We’re looking for exciting, heartwarming, inspiring, or encouraging stories related to Kindness Rocks™. Share an event that impacted you or someone close to you. Your story should be written in the first person and be about yourself or someone you know personally.
How to craft your kindness rocks story:
Engage the reader emotionally—make them cry, laugh, feel inspired, or say, “Wow!” Your story should be relatable, so trust your voice and experience.
Start your story "in the action." Avoid introducing what you're about to say, and don’t end with a summary of what you've shared.
Speak from the heart. You might find that writing your story is a cathartic and rewarding process.
You may use a pen name if you’d prefer not to use your real name.
Keep your story to 1,200 words or less.
Your story must be true—no fiction or creative writing.
What Your Submission Should NOT Be:
A sermon, essay, or eulogy. Stay authentic and use your natural voice.
A story written "as told to" someone else. If you help someone else write their story, they will be listed as the author and can credit you in the bio.
A term paper, thesis, letter, or journal entry.
A political statement or discussion of controversial topics.
A biography or testimonial.
Publishing Details: If your story is selected, you will be asked to sign a standard permission release agreement. This grants us non-exclusive rights to publish your story, meaning you retain ownership but allow us to publish it in the book.
We look forward to reading your story!
